With the turn of events in the year 2020, women of all backgrounds have experienced what it means to be resilient, adaptable, and forward-thinking. We observed women taking on challenging situations that affect their personal and professional lives with innovation, flexibility, and strength. This year’s symposium will explore the ways women can empower themselves and one another to conquer new norms throughout the journey of life.

Almendra
Judith Almendra, Vice President Human Capital and Talent Acquisition is an accomplished human capital professional with a proven track record of integrating business and people strategies to drive results. With over 20 years of business and human capital experience, Judith has led teams in the implementation of traditional and innovative strategies in the areas of marketing and communications, public relations, learning and development, talent acquisition, performance management, succession and employee engagement and employee retention. In her 13 years with TeleTech, Judith has held progressive leadership positions, covering multiple facets of the for Human Capital spectrum as well as leading the development of the company's proprietary human capital tools, programs and solutions. Through her career, she has gained deep expertise in international business and multicultural markets. And, she has played key roles leading global cultural transformation. She is originally from Mexico and moved to the US in 2001 to pursue her Masters in Business at the University of Colorado. She is also a board member of the TTEC Community Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to provide better education opportunities to children in underserved communities, which is something Judith is very passionate about.
Darling
Rebecca Darling is the Senior Director, Social Responsibility for Newmont where she leads the development of strategy, standards, processes and procedures related to social and community relations for the corporation. An outdoor enthusiast, Rebecca has over 15 years of experience in social development and environmental policy work, particularly in the area of sustainability. Much like her love of yoga, the keystone of Rebecca’s professional experience is about finding balance. Her work in social and environmental stewardship has taken her around the world, working in the social justice arena in India and Lebanon, and leading multi-stakeholder approaches for responsible mining in Mongolia and First Nations engagement in Canada. Professionally, Rebecca is a strong advocate for meaningful multi-stakeholder participation in social and economic development decision-making and working with stakeholders (government, civil society, private sector and media) to design and implement early and ongoing engagement strategies that build relationships based on trust and transparency. Much of her career has focused on driving community and local economic development rooted in creating opportunities for host communities while cultivating meaningful relationships with stakeholders. Rebecca also teaches a graduate course she developed on strategic stakeholder engagement at Cornell University. Before moving to Colorado, Rebecca served on the boards of the Nevada Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, Western Shoshone Scholarship Foundation (President of the Board), Newe Ghani Cultural Center, Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority (Chair), Nevada Mining Association (Executive Committee), Nevada Corporate Giving Council, Public Education Foundation, Three Square Food Bank, the Nevada Museum of Art, and University of Nevada Reno − Mackay School of Earth Sciences Advisory Board. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University and a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University.
Reinhard
Diane Reinhard, DNP, MBA, MSCIS, RN, CRRN, NE-BC, is vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Craig Hospital. Craig is a national, not-for-profit, top 10 rehabilitation and research hospital that specializes in spinal cord and/or traumatic brain injury. Diane oversees the utilization of human, fiscal and material resources allocated to inpatient and outpatient nursing, food services, pharmacy, patient/family education, infection control, Nurse Advice Line, respiratory and quality departments. She also manages the Community Relations and Benefits programs. Diane led the program to establish Target Zero, a campus-wide initiative to reduce (or eliminate) all hospital-acquired harm/infections. She oversaw the effort that earned Craig its 4th Magnet designation for excellence in nursing and 6th National Quality Award. Diane serves on multiple Boards and taskforces.
Wilderer
Dr. Mirka Wilderer is recognized as one of the top female leaders in the water industry. With her entrepreneurial approach, Mirka’s career expands over a timeline as executive and change leader for global organizations with deep experience in corporate strategies, business transformation, and cross- functional leadership. In 2019, Mirka became the first female CEO of De Nora Water Technologies, a leader in disinfection and filtration technologies with a global footprint in the water industry. Mirka builds strong relationships, expertise, and passion within her organization, external partners, and key stakeholders surging toward profitability and growth. Her personal mission is to lead business transformation by supporting and tapping into the individual strengths and talents of each employee to generate sustainable benefits for the greater good of society. In 2020, Mirka launched De Nora’s first #EachForEqual taskforce to enhance the degree of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company. Mirka’s accomplishments include the esteemed recognition from Diversity MBA as “Top 100 under 50 Executive and Emerging Leaders” (2020), from Global Water Intelligence as “One of the 20 Most Powerful Women in the Water Industry” (2020); the prestigious award of one of the “50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan” (2018); and one of the “Forty under 40” in West Michigan (2016). Mirka is a member of the distinguished GEN CEO Women’s Network in Germany, the International Women’s Forum (IWF), the Forbes Women’s Forum, and is a member of the Board of the Women’s Business Network in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Mirka is a frequent public speaker and has been on several CEO panels, most recently as a guest in a webinar hosted by SalesForce and Business Insider to discuss the accomplishments in driving digital transformation in the water space and pivoting during the COVID pandemic, accomplishments also featured in an article in Forbes.

Ms. Maribe Branch is a career-long human capital practitioner and has spent over a decade working with leaders and their teams to develop inclusive team cultures. Today, she serves as both the manager of education for the office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and as an Organizational Development Consultant for UCHealth. In these roles, Ms. Maribe Branch coaches consults and designs curricula to develop sustainable inclusive workplaces, and works with leaders and their teams to develop inclusive team cultures that attract high-performers that produce results. From designing learning strategies, facilitating programming, developing learning assets that impact behavioral changes, to performance consulting and coaching, Ms. Maribe Branch has led teams in becoming more inclusive and more productive in Africa, Europe, and North America.
