With the turn of events in the year 2020, women of all backgrounds have experienced what it means to be resilient, adaptable, and forward-thinking. We observed women taking on challenging situations that affect their personal and professional lives with innovation, flexibility, and strength. This year’s symposium will explore the ways women can empower themselves and one another to conquer new norms throughout the journey of life.

Li
Tingting Li is the Director of International New Markets at The Wendy’s Company. In this role, she reports to the President of Wendy’s International, and leads up initiatives that drives international new market strategy development, planning and execution. Her most recent focus is Wendy’s Europe expansion, beginning with entering the UK in 2021. Tingting joined the Wendy’s family in September of 2018. Tingting has been working in the business and corporate development field for more than a decade, both in China and in the US. Prior to joining Wendy’s, she was a Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Cardinal Health, leading acquisitions, divestitures and JV partnerships activities in China and the US. A native of China, Tingting was born and raised in a small city in the northeast. She moved to Beijing to attend college and joined KPMG Advisory after graduation, advising clients on both inbound and outbound M&A; opportunities. Tingting moved to the U.S. in 2011 to pursue her MBA at The Ohio State University. Outside of work, she is passionate about engaging in activities to drive diversity, equity and inclusion. Tingting lives in Columbus Ohio, with her husband Adam and their boys Anderson and Harrison.

Born in India. Made in Germany. Seasoned in America. Deval is a Petite Leader, Mother and Runner who uses Tough Love to bring the best out of herself, her teams and business. She brings 20+ years of Technology Leadership experience in Healthcare and Finance industries and currently, is a Vice President of Rocket Data team at Rocket Companies. Rocket Data is a Product and Data Engineering team that is in a relentless pursuit to build the next generation of Data Products to inform effective business decisions. She holds an Engineering in Electronics and Master in Business Administration that help her lead and empower Engineering teams to provide true Business value. Having lived and worked in a few cities in India, Germany and United States, she enjoys learning and experiencing the impact of culture in workspace. She was named 2020 “Woman of Influence” in Cincinnati’s Venue awards and “Global Data Power Woman – 2021” by CDO Magazine.

Jenell R. Ross earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Jenell is the only second generation African-American Woman Automobile Dealer in the country. She accepted the leadership role of the dealerships in 1997 after the sudden death of her father Robert P. Ross Sr., who in 1974 started the family-owned business in Richmond, Indiana. Ms. Ross became president after the passing of her mother, Mrs. Norma J. Ross in 2010. Today the Bob Ross Auto Group located in Centerville, Ohio, includes three franchises: Buick, GMC and Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz of Centerville was the first African-American owned Mercedes-Benz Dealership in the world. Bob Ross Auto Group also has the distinction of being the only Buick, GMC and Mercedes-Benz Dealerships owned by an African American ‘Woman’. This year Bob Ross Auto Group celebrates 47 years as a Buick Dealer, 42 years as a Mercedes-Benz Dealer and 39 years as a GMC Dealer. Jenell is a Board Member for the University of Dayton, the Will Allen Foundation, and the Minority Business Partnership thru the Dayton Chamber of Commerce. She is also an Independent Director to the Hub Group’s Board of Directors. Jenell honored her mother who battled breast cancer by establishing the Norma J. Ross Memorial Foundation, raising $700,000 to date for the Foundation and $280,000 for the American Cancer Society. Jenell has received numerous awards and honors over the years. Most recently, Automotive News honored her as one of the 100 Leading Women in the auto industry.

Howard

Sharon D. Howard currently serves as Director of Site Communications for the Premier Health system. She is a professional with over 25 years of experience in broadcast media and community and public relations. Areas of expertise include: healthcare communications, community development and engagement, marketing, strategic communications, communications consultation and special event planning. She is a member of Tau Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a member of the sorority’s International Connection/Social Action Committee; member of The Dayton Chapter of The Links, Incorporated; and served 10 years on the Ohio Arts Council. From 2017-2019, Howard was elected to serve on the Ohio Citizens for the Arts Board of Directors. Howard has been recognized for her journalistic work by receiving the “Regional Communicator of the Year Award by the International Communications Training Institute and multiple National “Communicator” and “Telly” Awards. Her work in the community has garnered several recognitions including: “Central Region Volunteer of the Year’’ from the National Urban League, Dayton YWCA “Women of Influence Award” and “Distinguished Ambassador Award.” Howard has received the “Coretta Scott King Award’’ by the National Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Atlanta, the “Ten Top Women Award,” given by the Dayton Daily News, Sinclair Community College Distinguished Community Service Award, the Mary Scott Legacy Award and was named a “Top Ten African American Woman,” by the African American CEO’s organization. Howard is inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame and the Dayton Area Broadcasters Hall of Fame. She is a past recipient of the University of Dayton National Alumni Association “Special Achievement Award.” In 2018, Howard was honored by Believers Christian Fellowship Church “Phenomenal Woman” award.
