Dr. Nita Walker
Nita Walker, MD joined UC Health in 1992 and is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Walker received her formal residency training at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she served as chief medical resident and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Walker is a graduate of Smith College and the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Walker is deeply committed to the practice of primary care and believes that each patient has a unique narrative that influences outcomes and well-being. She champions the patient-centered medical home model where patients receive preventive and chronic care management characterized by coordinated team-based care, enhanced access, and focus on quality and service. The Montgomery site where she practices is an NCQA certified Patient-Centered Medical Home since 2009.
She sees both males and females from 14 years of age above and enjoys sharing in patient health and wellness successes and guiding patients through challenges and difficulties. Many of her patients have been with the practice for 20 years. She provides basic gynecologic care to women at all stages of life and is passionate about helping diabetic and hypertensive patients achieve treatment goals.
She remains active in clinical teaching of medical students and residents at the University of Cincinnati College Of Medicine and is excited about training the next generation of clinical leaders and providers. Dr. Walker enjoys reading, exercising, the City of Cincinnati, and spending time with her family.
