Melanie Williams

Melanie Williams is currently the Senior Vice President of Frontier Communications Southeast Region. In April 2016, concurrent with Frontier’s acquisition of Verizon’s wireline assets, she became Florida Senior Vice President and General Manager of Frontier Communications. She now leads an expanded seven-state organization that includes 1800+ Operations employees.

Previously she served as President of Verizon’s Florida Region. Melanie delivered >$1B in revenue to the corporation, and led a team of 1750, earning #1 scorecard ranking for 2015.

Prior Verizon roles included: Florida’s Operations Director with oversight responsibility for 750 technicians, a 98M annual operating budget, and statewide service delivery and support for Verizon’s premier fiber product portfolio; Sales Director in the Florida Consumer and Mass Business Markets where Melanie delivered $2 billion in sales over a two-year period. Melanie’s cost reduction initiatives returned more than $52 million dollars to Verizon.

In 2013, Melanie launched the first Retention Center for Excellence, setting the stage for national rollout. Previous Director assignments in Texas and Ohio included National Channel Operations, Verizon On-line, eCommerce, and Alternate Sales Channels.

Throughout her career, Melanie has focused her considerable energy on business success through business transformation, performance excellence, employee recognition, goal-directed strategy, quality service delivery, cost containment, and talent development.

Melanie was awarded the Verizon President’s Award for sales achievement in 2011 and 2012, and is also a three-time consecutive recipient of the National Telecom Leaders Award. She twice served as Verizon’s CITE President, most recently in 2014-2015. Over the years, Melanie has solidified her reputation as a mentor, encouraging and supporting her staff and colleagues, empowering and guiding the next generation of business leaders. Currently, she serves as the Co-chair of the Frontier’s recently-formed Culture and Diversity Council.

Melanie is very active in the Tampa Bay business, academic, and volunteer communities as: Member of the University of Tampa Board of Trustees; Member of the Tampa Bay Greater Chamber of Commerce; Board Member with the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council; Board of Directors and Executive Committee Member with Tampa Bay Partnership; Executive Cabinet Member for the American Heart Association (AHA); and Spokesperson for the American Stroke Association. Her personal commitment to AHA raised 179K in 2015/16.

Melanie received her Master’s degree in Professional Development, with a concentration in Leadership, from Dallas Baptist University, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Nova Southern University in Florida.

Melanie shares her Tampa, Florida home with her husband, Victor, and their nine year old twins; Melanie also has four adult children. Melanie enjoys water sports, and precious family-time activities.
