Melissa Pang
Melissa Pang is Assistant General Counsel for the School District of Philadelphia, where she negotiates contracts with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and vendors and advises internal program offices and the General Counsel regarding legal issues. Before joining the School District, Melissa was a corporate associate and a finance associate at two different Philadelphia area law firms where she represented and counseled domestic and international clients on merger and acquisitions transactions, private equity transactions, corporate governance, complex lender-side financing transactions, and other commercial matters. Melissa was active in diversity recruitment efforts and the Diversity Committee at both firms.
Melissa is passionate about promoting and advancing diversity in the legal profession. She is honored to serve as the Chair of the Diversity in the Profession Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and co-chair of the Young Lawyers Network of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). She is the immediate past President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania (APABA-PA) and co-chaired the 2017 NAPABA Northeast Regional Conference. She has also served on the Judicial Selection and Retention Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Minority Bar Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Melissa graduated cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was a staff member of the Temple Law Review and President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. Melissa received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University, where she graduated with an honors degree.
