Latisha Thompson
Latisha Thompson serves as the Chief Employee Experience Officer for OUC-The Reliable One, the 14th largest public power utility in the United States. At OUC, Latisha is focused on positioning the organization as an “Employer of Choice” by helping employees navigate through industry changes, developing robust career progression programs, identifying and attracting talent, and continuously improving safety and technical training efforts. In her role, Latisha leads Human Resources, Safety, Emergency Management and Technical Training.
Before joining OUC, Latisha served as Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations with the Florida East Coast Railway in Jacksonville. There she oversaw a benefits administration redesign and implemented a labor review process resulting in a 30 percent reduction in claims and grievances. Her extensive experience in human resources includes leadership positions at CSX Transportation and with Sears, Roebuck and Company.
Passionate about being active in her community, Latisha was appointed by Mayor Jerry Demings to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Initiative, a collaborative initiative promoting unity, diversity and connectivity. She has served on boards including the First Florida Credit Union, National African American Women’s Leadership Institute and the Hubbard House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. She also served as an advisory board member for the American Red Cross.
Latisha holds certification from the Society of Human Resources Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts in human resource management and development from Webster University, and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Troy University.
