Kia Painter
Kia Painter is Vice President, Strategic Human Resources Solutions for Cox Communications. Painter is responsible for leading the company’s key talent practices including leadership development, organization design, compensation, diversity and inclusion, and succession planning.
Painter joined Cox in 1998 as a part time HR Assistant after completing undergraduate studies. During her 20 years with the company, she has risen through the ranks and led people functions throughout our regions and markets in the Southeast. In 2015, she moved to Atlanta to establish our employee experience, engagement, and organization design practices for the company
She is the recipient of various industry awards including:
- 2011 NAMIC Luminary Award for up and coming industry executives.
- Most Powerful and Influential Woman award from the Louisiana Diversity Council
- 2014 Top 40 under 40 by Multichannel News Magazine.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Human and Organizational Development from The George Washington University and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University.
She is a native of Norfolk, VA and currently resides in Smyrna, GA.
