Timeka Rashid

Dr. Timeka L. Thomas Rashid currently serves as the Assistant Vice President, Inclusive Student Engagement at Cleveland State University. Her current role’s responsibilities include: the day to day management of four areas of student engagement for CSU which include LGBTQ+, the Women’s Center and Live Up Vikes! Food pantry, Veteran Student Support Programs and the Center for Student Involvement, She also manages several areas of the division including professional development and assessment. She serves on a number of university committees.

Prior to her arrival at Cleveland State University in August 2019, Dr. Rashid served in the division of student affairs for nine years at Kent State University. Dr. Rashid has held a variety positions in her career in the field of student affairs. Some of her areas of oversight have included: student activities, union, fraternity and sorority life, leadership programming community service, first year experience, residence life, multicultural affairs, athletics, and student conduct.

A proud Clevelander, Dr Rashid believes in giving back to her hometown. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Dr. Rashid is active in community and civic organizations. She serves on two community boards’ which include EDWINS restaurant Leadership institute and the Shaker Library Board. She is also a member of the Cleveland NAACP, the Cleveland section of the NCNW and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Dr. Rashid received her bachelors of arts in a double major of History and Black Studies from the College of Wooster. She received her Masters in Higher education administration from The Ohio State University and her doctorate in higher education administration from Ohio University. She resides in Shaker Heights, OH with her family.
