In the Spring of 2003, I had a vision for a women’s forum on leadership. In March 2004, I organized the first Women in Leadership Symposium (WIL) in San Antonio, Texas which was presented by the Texas Diversity Council. My intent was to create a forum for female executives to share their personal stories about their challenges and their successes of climbing the corporate ladder all the way to the top. By sharing their knowledge, attendees would gain understanding and insight on professional strategies that lead to success.
Fast forward four years and you can see that my vision has expanded to become a National effort. The success of the previous symposiums prompted me to launch the National Women in Leadership Symposium website and thus venture across the nation to present WIL’s to additional cities giving other communities an opportunity to showcase exceptional female leaders.
The vision of the National WIL Symposium is to be a resource for women to network, mentor and to grow professional. These events will bring together a diverse mix of successful women leaders who, through the discussion of topics relevant to today’s issues will educate, inspire and encourage women to reflect on their own goals and status as they strive to move higher within their organizations.
I invite you to take part in one of the many great symposiums being held across the country. You will find that our WIL’s are exceptional events. In addition, I encourage those interested in hosting a symposium in your community to contact me. Thank you very much for your support.
Cordially,
