Shelly Okun

Shelly Okun (Fruchtman) is the President of Wholesale Produce Distributor “Sam Okun Produce, Co.” She is the fourth generation Okun in this 100 year enterprise which is flourishing under her leadership. Shelly has worked at Okun Produce for 15 years, learning the business from the ground up before assuming the helm. One of Shelly’s initiatives that has helped drive her success was becoming a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise or “WBE”.

Shelly obtained her BS in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati and cut her “sales teeth” with Xerox where she honed her skills based on Xerox’s legendary sales training. After moving back to Toledo, Shelly had three children – two of which have worked at Okun Produce making it a 5th generation business success. Shelly also worked for an Executive Search Firm before beginning her apprenticeship at Okun Produce under her father, Fred Okun’s guidance. Shelly is particularly proud of the team that she has built and cross-trained that continues their tradition of ethical business practices with a bedrock of integrity in their dealings with customers and vendors.
