Jacqueline Ejuwa
Jacqueline Ejuwa is Sr. Director, Mandates Control Group at Blue Shield of California, providing leadership for enterprise-wide intake and compliance with all Federal, State, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Covered California and Medicare mandates.
Jackie has more than 27 years of customer service, operations and health plan product experience with a specialization in the pharmacy benefit. Prior to her current role, she was responsible for pharmacy benefit design, build and implementation, pharmacy claims adjudication; prior authorization operations; pharmacy strategic projects; and implementation of numerous CMS, ACA and other regulatory mandates.
Jackie has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy; a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, and is currently working on an Executive Masters in Healthcare Leadership at Brown University, Rhode Island.
Jackie prides herself on being an enterprise-wide leader. In 2014, she co- founded Blue Shield of California’s first employee resource group for minorities, the Black Employee Network in support of Blue Shield’s Diversity & Inclusion mission.
Jackie is Chair of the Black Employee Network’s Group Mentoring Program which piloted a group mentoring program in July 2015 in support of BEN’s mission “to focus on increasing the recruitment, retention and advancement of Blue Shield’s black community”. Jackie also has a keen interest in healthcare politics and health reform, and currently serves on the Steering Committee of Blue Shield’s Employee Political Action Committee.
