Angelica Espinosa
Angelica Espinosa is the Chief Counsel for Sempra International and is responsible for its legal affairs. Angelica joined Sempra International in 2014. Sempra International is an operating division of Sempra Energy, a Fortune 500 energy company headquartered in San Diego, California.
Previously, Angelica worked for General Electric (GE), where she held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, including regional counsel for Latin America, global long-term service agreement counsel and associate general counsel of commercial operations in GE’s Oil and Gas division. Most recently, Angelica served as general counsel of GE Oil and Gas’ $5-billion-dollar measurement & control division.
Prior to joining GE, Angelica was an associate at the law firm of King and Spalding, where she represented clients in the areas of purchase and sale of power generation, distribution assets, oil and gas on-shore producing assets, and the development of LNG export and import projects. Angelica began her U.S. legal career as an associate at the law firm of Thompson & Knight, where she advised clients in the areas of acquisition and disposition of oil and gas producing properties.
Angelica graduated magna cum laude with a law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law and has a law degree from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. Angelica also holds a master’s degree in international and comparative law from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.
