Andrea Stuermer

Andrea Stuermer is Chief Operating Officer for Business Insurance at Farmers Insurance Group, a position she has held since January 2014. In her role she is responsible for shaping profitability and growth of the commercial business of Farmers through underwriting and operations.

Andrea joined Farmers in 2014 after 6 years with Zurich Insurance Group. In her last position as Strategic Assistant to the Group CEO she supported the Zurich Chief Executive in steering the strategic agenda of the company. Previously, Andrea was Head of Finance and Operations of Group Reinsurance at Zurich and held various positions as a finance and M&A professional at Zurich, Allianz and JPMorgan.

Andrea is active in mentoring colleagues and female professionals seeking advice on career development. She serves on the advisory council of the Women’s Network at Farmers and is a sponsor of the Woodland Hills chapter. Andrea has also served on the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard Kennedy School. Andrea holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics as well as from the Harvard Kennedy School. Andrea has lived and worked in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Israel, UK, Canada and the United States.
